Tuesday Gosse participated in the University World Championships in Portugal. He went for a medal, but finished 6th.
It`s not only summer in The Netherlands. In Portugal there are – like expected – also high temperatures. Tuesday Gosse raced on his MTB during the University World Championships. After a good start he started to drop back a little and the podium became out of sight. The Dutchman came home 6th, not exactly what he was hoping for.
“A 6th place at the University World Championships wasn’t where I came for to Portugal. Disappointments are also a big part of the game, but it is up to you how you deal with them! I know I cannot blame myself for the preparation towards this event, but my body was just not able to adjust to the weather here. Racing full gas on a a mountainbike in 38 degrees isn’t something I do so often. Actually I think it is one of the hottest races I ever did”, commented Gosse from Portugal.
