Gosse wasn`t the only Dutchman at the startline of the first UCI Cyclocross race of this season. Also Jens Dekker made the trip to Down Under. Dekker made a good start, with Gosse in pursuit. During the race Gosse tried to catch his fellow countryman, but Dekker resisted and took the win. Gosse finished in a second place.

“I had quite a good start and was in 7th position when we entered the field. During the first lap I managed to overtake some opponents and I got in third place behind the Australian champion Jongewaard. Jens had a little gap at that moment, while I caught up with Jongewaard at the end of the first lap. During the second lap I managed to drop Jongewaard. Jens had a 20 second gap and that gap stayed stable for the rest of the race. I am happy with my second place, it means some nice points for the UCI ranking. Tomorrow we ride the same lap, but in different direction”, Gosse commented after the race.
